Lifestyle Coaching for the Heart

Everybody knows what to do. Almost nobody knows how to keep doing it. This is the ‘how’.

The honest problem

Advice is free. Adherence is everything.

“Eat less oil, walk daily, reduce stress, sleep well.” Every patient in India has heard it. Roughly one in ten is still doing it six months later.

The failure is not willpower. It is that the advice is given as a slogan rather than a system — with no sequencing, no measurement, no adaptation to a joint family kitchen, a night shift, a bad knee, or a festival calendar.

Our coaching is built the way we build a treatment protocol: specific targets, small sequenced changes, objective tracking, and a scheduled review where we change the plan if it is not working.

What we do not do

Six pillars

Where the evidence actually is.

Nutrition that survives an Indian kitchen

One menu for the household, not a separate plate for the 'heart patient'. We work with rice, roti, dal, sambar, curd and the oils you already own — adjusting quantity, sequence, fat quality and refined carbohydrate load. Regional variants for South Indian, North Indian, Bengali and Gujarati kitchens. Festival and travel protocols so a wedding does not end the plan.

Movement matched to your joints

Zone 2 aerobic base plus resistance training — the combination with the strongest cardiovascular evidence. Scaled to knees, backs, schedules and 40°C summers. Home-only options for members without gym access, and a progression that starts wherever you actually are, including 'ten minutes after dinner'.

Sleep as a cardiac intervention

Sleep duration and quality independently predict hypertension, arrhythmia and events. We screen for obstructive sleep apnoea, fix sleep timing and light exposure, and address the shift-work and late-dinner patterns that are near-universal in urban India.

Stress and the nervous system

Measurable, not vague. Breath-based downregulation, structured worry time, and boundaries around work hours — with resting heart rate and heart-rate variability used as the feedback signal rather than how you feel on a given day.

Tobacco, alcohol and the hard ones

Non-judgemental, structured cessation support. Nicotine replacement guidance to discuss with your doctor, trigger mapping, and relapse planning built in from day one — because relapse is expected, not a failure.

The household, not the individual

We coach the person who cooks, the person who shops, and the person at risk — usually three different people. This single change is why family plans outperform individual plans in adherence at six months.

How coaching runs

Structure, not motivation.

Targets, in writing

Every member gets numerical targets — BP, waist, HbA1c, ApoB, weekly minutes — not adjectives like 'better'.

Two changes a fortnight

We deliberately withhold the rest of the plan. Sequencing is the difference between a habit and a resolution.

Weekly tracking

Home BP, weight, steps and sleep logged in your dashboard. Data, not memory, drives the review.

Monthly rebuild

If a change did not stick, we assume the plan was wrong — not you — and redesign it.

Realistic expectations

What twelve weeks usually produces.

5–8%

typical body-weight reduction in members who start with central obesity

8–12

mmHg average systolic blood pressure fall with diet, sodium and movement changes combined

0.4–0.8

percentage-point HbA1c improvement in pre-diabetic and early diabetic members

70%+

of members still following the core plan at six months when the household participates

These are typical ranges reported in lifestyle intervention literature and our programme experience. They are not promises. Individual results depend on baseline, adherence, medication and comorbidity.
